It's a separate set as the columns (which I am having problem with) don't really match with the regular unit columns. Yes, you can now have cards for your wargear. So many things to do, so little time.Īnyhow, I'm not here to complain but to tell you that I have updated the W40k card set to include a new set for Wargear. Work has progressed on the Vehicle card but I can only ask you to be patient (or generous) with me as I find that it's hard to allocate time to this project. It's been a while and I haven't been working on these that much. Army Builder keeps track of everything on 1-2 pages. 40K can have a lot of models on the board, especially in the 2,000+ point range. Personally, I would rather just use Army Builder. You could also make a "tick box" for things like a combi melta to track use. I know some people don't like 4shared but it's the most practical means for me of getting the file out and updating it. I made the current files available in my 4shared folder ( W40K_Unit_Card.zip). The vehicule card will be in landscape format. I am currently working on a vehicle card with the stats on the side. I welcome and encourage comments and suggestions for the cards. So I modified these two boxes in my last card to see if it would work better. While testing the cards, I realized that it would be better to have more room for the wargear and less room for the special rules. The third one and the one I like the most right now has the name and the number of minis in the unit at the top, the cost and stats in a column on the left, the image on the right and the Wargear and Special rules boxes at the bottom. The second one has the same layout but the image occupies the entire face of the card. The first one is the standard look of CCG cards like MTG with the name, cost at the top, the unit image in the middle, and the stats under. I've used an images of Digits Drogan minis (With permission. As Games Workshop doesn't want stats to be listed on anything they don't actually create, I am providing samples with placeholders only to let you preview the cards with content. These will probably be revised as I continue working with templates and I have other templates planned for vehicles, weapons, and rules. Right now I have three templates for standard units. So with the help of the Magic Set Editor, I've created templates for Warhammer 40k units. Don't play and never actually read the game rules. Warmachine and Hordes have them but (in my ignorance) they are skirmishes games. Meleck wrote:I've always like the idea of using cards to identify units in war gaming. Good thing is once the data is entered, you can change the template without losing anything. I still have some detail work to do on them but they are fairly usable as they are. Then again, putting a titan on such small card isn't really fitting. I know it doesn't work for titans (and maybe knights) as these have four categories. I don't have all indexes so I believe it should work for most units. I have locked the ranges to Full, half and a quarter of the wounds. It works though.Ĩth Edition has introduced the multi-wound (or decreasing efficiency) rules so there is a card for these. When you are using this card format, you need to print it separately from the other format and the MTG Card Set Editor has a printing bug where the card is crooked when printed with other portrait format cards. The default one has the name and the number of minis in the unit at the top, the cost and stats in a column on the left, the image on the right and the Wargear and Special rules boxes at the bottom.Īnother has the standard look of CCG cards like MTG with the name, cost at the top, the unit image in the middle, and the stats under.Īnother has the same layout but the image occupies the entire face of the card.Īs 8th edition doesn't have specific vehicle starts, I have kept the landscape format for those who want a large image. None of the specs are necessarily true and exact for the characters.

I have templates for units, weapons, and rules.

I've updated my package to support 8th edition. And I like to create them as well, almost more than filling them. I've been called the guy who likes to fill out sheets. I've always like the idea of using cards to identify units in war gaming.
